Sophie's Basket

I was doing some spring cleaning today and purging some of our stash. (My how embarassing it is to clean and realize just how much "stuff" we accumulate!) I emptied out a large basket that I keep in the living room. It had housed toys but I decided to move them downstairs where the kid's play area is. As I went to collect my basket and find a new use for it, this is what I found...

Doesn't she just have "rotten" written on her forehead? She was having so much fun that I decided my repurposing of the basket could wait a while!

Monkey See, Monkey Do

This is a classic picture of my two little tykes right now. Sophie has become quite the little sister that looks up to her big bro. It seems like she is always imitating what he does. It is so cute. (At least we think so...Jack, not so much) Here she is acting just like the Jack man once again. He was sitting on the chair watching cartoons and she climbed up right beside him and put her hands up just like him. I love it!!

I'm Dreaming of a PINK Christmas

We have four Christmas trees at our house. One upstairs, one downstairs and one in each of the kid's bedrooms. Recently when I went shopping with some girlfriends, I found a PINK tree for Sophie's room. I wish you could have seen her face when we put it up. She loves it!!

Protecting His Little Sis

Jackson is getting Sopie "suited" up

A few evenings ago, Justin had an evening meeting so I got to take his place in a round of frisbee outside with Jack. Normally frisbee is a man's sport at our house but I was an okay second fiddle since dad was gone. Anyway, Jack was concerned about Sophie joining us because he was just sure she would fall down a lot chasing a frisbee. Suddenly I heard, "I have an idea!" Off he went to the garage only to storm through the door sporting - you guessed it - knee pads! I laughed so hard. He was quite determined to get these on Sophie so she could play frisbee with us and not hurt her knees. ( I should mention that she roughed up her knees pretty good at a tennis match last weekend. Thus the reason for Jack's concern.) These knee pads cracked me up. It was almost like you could see the pride in his eyes for putting them on and taking such good care of her. As for Sophie, she loves her big brother and she sported them for the evening. Well, most of the evening. :)
